My work extrapolates iconic two-dimensional imagery from cinema into a three- dimensional phenomenological experience. I fabricate objects such as a telephone booth or a flying saucer, employing synthetic Technicolor-like saturated hues to elicit an emotional response. Artificial or natural light transforms the fabrications into the universal and strange. Being nearsighted since childhood, without glasses lights appear to me as overlapping simple-shaped colored orbs or bright crystals. I combine found objects of those shapes with my fabrications, turning each of them into a metaphorical character whose relationships with each other dramatize a minimalist narrative.
